All,
The Government is considering when to allow Pubs and Clubs to open again. The current opinion is 4th July at the earliest but as you can appreciate this may change.
The committee, with the support of Kevin and Tracy, having been looking at the changes we need to make to be compliant with the new COVID-19 Secure guidelines issued.
These are highlighted below:
- The club will be open for Members only.
- The games room and the lounge will be open, the concert room will be closed (See proposed Opening times below).
- Snooker tables and Dartboards will not be available for use until further notice. If you wish to play cards or dominoes please bring your own.
- Saturday and Sunday Entertainment is cancelled until further notice (We may re-open the Concert room in due course to increase the seating capacity in the club).
- We are introducing a ‘One-way’ system whereby you enter the club by the front door and leave by the side door. This is to stop people crossing over at the entrances/exits. A door access control system has been installed. Members will need to swipe their membership card at the front door which will then unlock the door for you to enter. We would ask that people don’t ‘tailgate’ into the club. Each member must swipe in so we can accurately record the number of people accessing the club.
- Social distancing will apply within the club (based on Government guidance at the time of opening) and we ask that members do NOT move tables/chairs. Some furniture has been removed from the club to make more space.
- The access system will allow us to manage the numbers in the club. To ensure we don’t exceed the capacity where social distancing can’t be achieved we will deny entry to the club until the numbers reduce.
- Members will be asked to return their empty glasses/bottles to designated areas so we can minimise the interaction staff will have with members.
- We also ask that all rubbish is cleared from tables at the end of night into the bins provided.
- Protective screening will be installed at the bars along with a Swipe card for members to use their membership card at the bar. We ask that, where possible, all payments are made using Visa/MasterCard or using the credit on your membership card to limit the amount of money being handled by staff.
- All Staff will be provided with PPE if they wish to use it.
- Hand Sanitiser will be available throughout the club.
- We are introducing an online app to place your orders and reduce the queues at the bar. Orders can be collected from a designated point at the Bar.
- The toilets will have a latch fitted on the main doors to allow one person to use them at any one time. Unfortunately our toilets aren’t big enough to allow more than 1 person at any one time whilst the social distancing measure is 2 metres.
We will share with you further any changes we plan to make but we wanted Members to be aware that we are working behind the scenes to ensure that we can open at the earliest opportunity but will only do so in a way which is safe for both staff and members.
We trust you are all safe and well and we look forward to welcoming you back to the club.
On behalf of the management committee,
Rob Jones
Secretary
